Matka Travel Fair is the international travel year’s opening event, held in Helsinki, bringing together professionals and key decision-makers from companies operating in the travel environment.

Tailored connections
The event brings together travel and business travel professionals to network, share insights and explore solutions that make the travel industry more efficient and sustainable.
The professional programme begins on Wednesday with Matka Workshop Day, dedicated to pre‑scheduled buyer–supplier meetings that support targeted business connections.
This is followed by a dedicated exhibition day on Thursday, featuring themed areas, the Matkatieto seminar programme organised with SMAL, and an opening After Work event.
The fair remains open to professionals throughout the entire event from 22–24 January 2027, offering multiple opportunities to connect, explore and engage.

- Matka Workshop Day, Europe’s largest purchasing event in the travel industry, held on Wednesday, 20th January 2027.
- Matka Business Forum, focusing on business travel, which takes place alongside the professionals’ day on 21nd January 2027.

Free entry for professionals and students in the field
As a travel business professional or student in the field, you can visit the Matka Travel Fair free of charge by registering either in advance or on-site. By registering, you can attend the fair on any of the event days during regular opening hours. Be prepared to verify your professional status.
Registration opens in summer 2026
Free registration requires a registration code.
If you are already subscribed to the professionals’ newsletter, you will find the code in the letter. If you haven’t subscribed yet, make sure to do so soon – you will receive the registration code in the confirmation email.
